Welcome to my blog.  Follow my journey as I embark on the process of egg donation having come to terms with not being able to have my own children.  I am passionate about raising awareness of infertility and the struggles that couples go through to become parents.  Feel free to share these blogs and travel on my journey with me 🙂  Much love xxx

  1. I just wanted to say as a recipient waiting for a donor myself what a wonderful thing you are doing. I hope the results are good for you all.

  2. Thank you for this blog.
I am a donor and my retrieval is on Wednesday. I am so scared at the moment of the procedure and the pain afterwards. My biggest fear is that I will not be sedated enough and will feel pain, but will be too sedated to tell them. Why can’t it just be done under GA?!
How much did you hurt afterwards? Any other advice for me pleeeeeease?!

    • Hi Alisha,
Ah lovely to ‘meet’ you! You’re doing a lovely thing for your couple! I promise you that I did not feel a thing. I too was worried about feeling pain but I was so sedated I couldn’t feel anything. They put the needle in my hand and the next thing I knew I was waking up back in my room. Tell them your fears and they will do their best to make you feel better. Afterwards, I had some discomfort but a few Paracetamol and I was alright, just very bloated but not what I would call pain. Where abouts are you based? Good luck! Let me know how it goes and if there is anything else I can help with 🙂 Stay calm and keep your couple in mind. Babies are beautiful and special and you are helping someone have something amazing! Well done you xxxx

      • Thank you… I am at Wessex in s’oton. I have a spa day booked for Friday which is non refundable. Will I make it? My collection date has been pushed back twice, otherwise would never have booked it.
I am also worried about OHSS. would like another oestrogen test today as collection date had moved back but clinic says it’s unnecessary.

      • I would check with your clinic, there may be some infection risk in the water etc but you should probably be ok to go and chill out? Talk to them about OHSS too, you will be bloated for a while afterwards, usually until you get your next period but also mention your concerns to your clinic, thats what they are there for 🙂 Remember to take it easy for a while afterwards xx

  3. Thanks for your reassurances. I just got home from collection and I truly didn’t feel a thing.
Also no pain at the moment, just going to keep on top of the pain meds.
Can’t wait to see if it works for my recipient.
    Fingers crossed.alisha.

    • Ah that’s brilliant news Alisha! Well done! Keeping everything crossed for your couple, will your clinic let you know? Keep me posted please 🙂 I have email you my email address. Take care, put your feet up and rest now! Don’t forget your electrolyte drinks xxx

  4. I just want to say how much I admire you and your blog. I myself have been a donor 3 times. I am from the Caribbean and currently searching for other clinics I accept me as a donor. I thoroughly enjoy the reads. Good job and bless you and your kind heart
